Dr. Michael W. Craige is the founding director of the CiDrep SickKids Foundation. Since its establishment in August 2017, Dr. Craige has played a pivotal role in extending critical financial support to families seeking medical assistance and oversees the organization, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources. Dr. Craige's work is focused on philanthropy leadership, to help families with sick kids raise funds when insurance and other financial resources get exhausted.
Through his leadership, Dr. Craige has laid a solid foundation for the Foundation's accomplishments in financing pediatric health and positively impacting the lives of ailing children. Collaborating with corporate partners, individual benefactors, and dedicated volunteers, he aspires to offer essential assistance to children in need and forge a future where all sick children can access the requisite care, recover, and find solace during challenging times.
Dr. Craige is a scientist and biomedical informaticist who leads initiatives in clinical data science, EHR data integration, and real-world data analytics to support research. His work focuses on the development of research-grade data to improve patient outcomes. He is the recipient of the 2021 NSF Computing Information Research Fellowship Award at Rutgers University and has published his research work on computational oncology predictive algorithms and modeling. His contributions appear in Nature Communications and Frontiers in Oncology journals. He previously conducted basic science research in neurology and oncology and currently oversees data platform strategy, analytics operations, and partnerships for multi-center clinical studies.
Dr. Michael Craige holds a bachelor’s degree in biomedical informatics from DeVry University and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Informatics from Rutgers University, where he completed a joint dissertation in pediatric epilepsy in collaboration with Emory University. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Computational Oncology at Rutgers. In addition, he earned an MBA in Management of Technology from the Scheller College of Business at the Georgia Institute of Technology, equipping him with a strategic blend of scientific expertise and executive leadership in data-driven healthcare innovation.
